Enoch File and Access to Your Documents
Enoch File uses the Google Drive API to display and organize your files, but the app never reads, copies, or stores their contents. This is enforced by Google’s Limited Use Policy, which strictly limits how apps built on Google APIs can handle user data — and by the way the app connects to Drive in the first place.
The two silos in your Google Drive
Section titled “The two silos in your Google Drive”Enoch File uses Google’s drive.file access scope, which effectively creates two separate silos in your Google Drive: the files Enoch File created (everything you upload, email in, forward, import, or scan through the app) and everything else. The app can see and organize the first silo. It has no visibility into the second — documents you saved to Drive before signing up, work folders, personal files kept for other reasons, anything a different app put there. That separation isn’t a policy we enforce; it’s how the connection is defined at the Google level.
Screen sharing during technical support
Section titled “Screen sharing during technical support”The one situation where anyone at Enoch File may see your files is a support session, but only if you choose to share your screen with us. If a support conversation reaches the point where showing the problem is easier than describing it, our support team may invite you to share your screen. If you accept, we’ll see whatever your screen displays for the duration of that session — including anything you open, and anything visible in other browser tabs or apps.
Screen sharing is always opt-in. You are never required to share your screen, and if you do, use discretion about what you have visible — close tabs or documents you’d rather not have on screen, and end the share as soon as we’ve seen what we need to.
