Downloads and zipped folders

If you’ve downloaded a batch of files from Enoch File and ended up with one ZIP folder instead of several separate files, that’s Enoch File deliberately grouping the download to keep things tidy on your end.

When downloads become a ZIP

Five files or fewer download individually — each file lands separately in your browser’s downloads folder, exactly as you’d expect.

Six files or more get bundled into a single ZIP file named after the drawer they came from (for example, Insurance_Export.zip). The reason isn’t security or a technical limitation — it’s that one file is friendlier than twenty. Without the ZIP, a large download would fire off separate download notifications for each file and dump the whole pile loose into your Downloads folder. Bundling gives you one item to work with and, for many file types, a smaller total download.

Opening the ZIP once it downloads

Every modern operating system opens ZIP files natively — no additional software needed.

• Windows — right-click the ZIP file in File Explorer and choose Extract All. A folder with the same name appears next to the ZIP, containing the individual files.
• Mac — double-click the ZIP file in Finder. A folder with the same name appears next to the ZIP.
• iPhone or iPad — tap the ZIP file in the Files app. It expands into a folder next to the ZIP.
• Android — most Android devices open ZIPs from the Files or My Files app. Tap the ZIP, then tap Extract.

You can safely delete the ZIP once you’ve extracted its contents.

Getting separate files instead

If you’d rather have loose files than a ZIP — say, you want each file to open individually the moment it downloads, or you’re only going to use a couple of them — split your download into batches of five or fewer. Each batch under the threshold downloads as individual files.
