The Power of Preview
When you click on a file in Enoch File, it opens in the built-in previewer. This isn’t just a viewer — it’s a full workspace where you can examine your document and take action on it without leaving the screen. Rename it, tag it, move it, share it, download it, or send it to the Archive Vault — the tools sit right at the top of the preview.
What you can preview
Section titled “What you can preview”- PDFs — Scroll through multi-page PDFs directly in the previewer.
- Images — JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, BMP, and TIFF all display in preview. Use the zoom and rotate controls to examine details.
- Microsoft Office files — Word documents (
.docx), Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), and PowerPoint presentations (.pptx) are converted automatically and displayed as a preview. Excel documents and large Office files may take a few seconds to render. - Google Workspace files — Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides preview seamlessly.
- Videos — MP4, WebM, and other standard formats play directly in the previewer with standard playback controls.
- Audio — MP3, WAV, and other audio files play with a built-in audio player.
- Text and HTML files — Displayed as formatted text.
What can’t be previewed
Section titled “What can’t be previewed”ZIP archives, executable files, and less common file types will show a message saying preview isn’t available. You can still download these files and open them on your device.
If a document is too large to convert within a few seconds, you’ll see a message suggesting you download it instead. This is uncommon, but can happen with very large or complex Office files.
Password-protected documents can’t be previewed. You’ll see an error message with a download button so you can open the document on your device instead.
What you can do from the previewer
Section titled “What you can do from the previewer”The previewer isn’t just for looking — it’s a command center. Across the top you’ll find a full set of action icons.

Rename and tag from the previewer
Section titled “Rename and tag from the previewer”Click the ✏️ pencil icon next to the file name to rename it. Click + Add Tags next to the tags area to add or edit tags. Changes save immediately.
Zoom and rotate
Section titled “Zoom and rotate”Use the zoom controls (+ and −) to examine details, and the rotate button to correct orientation. A reset button clears any zoom or rotation you’ve applied. Zoom settings aren’t preserved — if you open the same document again later, you’ll need to zoom or rotate again.
Navigate between files
Section titled “Navigate between files”Use the left and right arrows at the bottom of the previewer to move to the next or previous file in the current folder — without closing and reopening the previewer.
Large images
Section titled “Large images”Large or high-resolution images display at a lower resolution to save time and bandwidth. On a desktop or laptop, a View Full Resolution button lets you load the full image when you want to see more detail. On phones, the high-resolution version isn’t available in preview, but you can download the original file.
- Preview before you organize. Opening the previewer is the fastest way to confirm you’ve got the right file before moving, tagging, or renaming it.
- Work through a folder with the navigation arrows. When you’re sorting through a batch of related documents, the arrows at the bottom of the previewer keep you in flow.
- Rotate scans that came in sideways. The rotate button fixes orientation right in the previewer. Your view is corrected for the session — the original file on Google Drive isn’t changed.
