How to get a document or file from Enoch File onto your computer

Enoch File uses the floppy disk icon 💾 for every download. Whether you’re pulling one document off the app or grabbing a stack of them, the same icon carries the action — you’ll just click it in a different place depending on what you’re doing.

Downloading one file

You have two spots for downloading a single file:

• From the file list. Each file has a 💾 icon on its row. Click it and the file downloads.
• From the file preview. When a file is open in preview, the 💾 icon appears in the preview toolbar. Click it and the file downloads without you having to close the preview first.

Both do exactly the same thing — pick whichever is the most convenient.

Downloading multiple files at once

For downloading several files off the app in one go, use the checkboxes next to the filenames to select what you want, then click the 💾 icon in the bulk action toolbar that appears above the file list. See How to Use Bulk Actions for the full walkthrough of selecting and running bulk actions.

Two things worth knowing about bulk downloads:

• Under six files, they download individually — each one lands separately in your browser’s downloads folder, the same way single-file downloads do.
• Six or more files, they arrive as a single zip — Enoch File packages them into a compressed file named after the drawer they came from (for example, Insurance_Export.zip) so you don’t end up with a swarm of separate downloads. Extract the zip after it lands to get to the individual files.

For very large batches — many gigabytes or thousands of files — your browser can run out of memory while it assembles the zip. If you’re pulling that much down at once, break it into smaller batches.

Where the download goes

Downloads land wherever your browser is set to put them — usually your Downloads folder, unless you’ve configured your browser to prompt for a location every time. Enoch File hands the file off to your browser and doesn’t control where it ends up on your device.
