  • What is the difference between trash and archive?
The trash icon deletes files, folders, drawers, or cabinets. The Archive stores them out of sight to help de-clutter your cabinets and drawers — like packing old files into a box and storing it in the attic. Documents sent to the trash will be gone for good in 30 days. To prevent accidental deletions, cabinets, drawers and folders must be empty prior to deletion. While you can select and delete multiple files at one time, the maximum number of files that can be deleted at once is limiteFew readers

  • Sharing files outside of Enoch File
The easiest way to share a file with someone is to email it to them. But when you send someone a file, you can't get it back. They might send it to someone else. If you are worried about personal or private information in a file that you need to share with someone else, consider using the Enoch File sharing function, represented by the telescope icon - 🔭. To share a document, you must enter their email address. They will then receive an automated email stating that you are sharing a file witFew readers
  • How to use tags
Tags are short labels you can add to any file to make it easier to find later. Think of them like key words, or sticky notes on the outside of a document — a quick way to mark what's inside. Adding or editing tags: There are two ways to add tags to a document or file: One, click on a file to open the preview. Below the file name, you'll see the tag area. Click the + Add Tags next to the tags to create or edit them. Type your tags separated by spaces, using a symbol before each one —Few readers

  • When to use Reindex and Clean Up
Reindex and Clean Up scours your cabinets, looking for files that aren't saved in a folder or drawer, and places them in your Unfiled Drawer so you can put them where you want them. It also reindexes files to optimize sorting and searching. Run Reindex and Clean Up from the Utility Menu if: Searching seems to take a long time You left the app by mistake while it was importing documents or your device crashed or ran out of power in the middle of an operation You mailed or forwFew readers
  • Searching Enoch File - two different ways
We have Quick Search for fast, targeted answers and Global Search for thorough, cross-cabinet results. For example, if you have more than 10,000 documents, it can be tough to narrow down your search. By letting you search a specific drawer or folder, your odds of finding the exact document you need improve. If you know a document is in a specific folder but don't want to scan through all 129 files in that folder, type a tag or word from the title into the search box above the file list.Few readers
  • Moving files between drawers and folders

  • How to copy a file
Copying a file can be useful if you think you need the same document in two places. For example, you might want to keep a 1099 form in both the drawer for your tax documents and the drawer for that employer or payee it came from. Be advised that when you search for a document that has been copied, you may turn up multiple copies. So copy with caution because multiple copies of a document may lead to confusion down the road.
