The power of preview

When you click on a file in Enoch File, it opens in our built-in previewer. This isn't just a viewer — it's a full workspace where you can examine your document and take action on it without leaving the screen.

What you can preview:

  • PDFs — You will see your PDF document and can scroll through multi-page documents right in the previewer.
  • Images — JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, BMP, and TIFF are all visible in preview. Use the zoom and rotate controls to examine details.
  • Microsoft Office files — Word documents (.docx), Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), and PowerPoint presentations (.pptx) are automatically converted and displayed as a preview. Note that Excel documents and large Office files may take a few seconds to render.
  • Google Workspace files — Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides preview seamlessly.
  • Videos — MP4, WebM, and other standard formats play directly in the previewer with standard playback controls.
  • Audio — MP3, WAV, and other audio files play with a built-in audio player.
  • Text and HTML files — Displayed as formatted text.

What can't be previewed:

ZIP archives, executable files, and uncommon file types will show a message saying preview isn't available. You can still download these files and open them on your device.

If a document is too large for our server to convert within a few seconds, you'll see a message suggesting you download it instead. This is uncommon, but can happen with very large or complex Office files.

Password-protected documents cannot be previewed. You'll see an error message with a download button so you can download and open the document on your device.

What you can do from the previewer:

The previewer isn't just for looking — it's a command center. Across the top of the preview, you'll find a full set of action icons:

  • 💾 Download — Save the file to your device.
  • 🚚 Move — Relocate the file to a different drawer or folder.
  • 📋 Copy — Create a duplicate in another location.
  • ✉️ Email — Send the file as an attachment to any email address (Premium).
  • 🔭 Share — Grant view-only access to someone via Google Drive (Premium).
  • 📦 Archive — Move the file to the Archive Vault (Premium).
  • 🗑️ Trash — Delete the file (moved to Google Drive trash for 30 days).

Rename and tag from the previewer:

Click the ✏️ pencil icon next to the file name to rename it. Click **+Add Tags ** next to the tags area to add or edit tags. Changes save immediately.

Zoom and rotate images and many documents:

Use the zoom controls (+ and −) to examine details and the rotate button to correct orientation. A reset button clears any zoom or rotation you've applied. Zoom settings are not preserved. If you view that document again, you will have to zoom or rotate again.

Navigate between files:

Use the left and right arrows at the bottom of the previewer to move to the next or previous file in the current folder — without closing and reopening the previewer.

Large images:

Large or high-resolution images will be displayed at a lower-resolution to save time and bandwidth. On a desktop or laptop, a "View Full Resolution" button lets you load the full image if you have a large screen or want to see more detail. On phones, you cannot preview the high resolution image but cand download it.
