How to copy a file

Copying a file can be useful if you think you need the same document in two places. For example, you might want to keep a 1099 form in both the drawer for your tax documents and the drawer for that employer or payee it came from.

Be advised that when you search for a document that has been copied, you may turn up multiple copies. So copy with caution because multiple copies of a document may lead to confusion down the road.

To copy a file, click the clip board, as seen below.

This will create a copy of the document and open the destination selector. You can then pick the cabinet, drawer and folder where you want the file copied to and click Drop Here. If you exit the selector without picking a destination, you will have two copies of the file in your current drawer. You can always move one of them elsewhere.
