Why does sending files by email sometimes seem to take a while?

For the same reason it takes a while to add multiple large attachments in Gmail or another email system. A single small PDF will send in under a second. But if you're sending seven high-resolution images at 1.8 MB each, it takes longer for the files to reach the mail server.

Please note the outbound email limits: you can send up to 10 files at a time and/or up to approximately 20 MB total. If you exceed these limits, the email will generate an error and won't be sent.
